My family moved from Auckland to Tauranga for a fresh start back in 2015, and starting at E&E in February of 2016 began a run of good events in my life.
I completed E&E’s Service Sector programme, which taught me all about cooking and the tourism sector, graduating in December 2016. I achieved NCEA Levels 1 and 2 and the literacy and numeracy qualifications. This set me up to enter the hospitality and tourism sector, where endless opportunities are on offer.
I loved my time at E&E. The other students were great and the learning was practical. We were fully supported and made to feel part of the campus. The smaller class numbers meant the tutor could explain things better to me. There are so many benefits to studying with E&E.
After I graduated, my tutors helped me explore the hospitality sector’s job market and produce a CV. I successfully applied for a job at KFC. I’ve continued to train on the job and I am now employed full-time, 40 hours a week. I love the varied shifts and really enjoy the staff and customers.
I am going to get a few years’ experience here, with the ultimate goal of working on cruise ships and travelling the world!
I’ve grown to believe you should always finish what you start. Believe you can do it, and it will happen. Like it has for me!
